How to setup Outlook RPC over HTTPS or Outlook Anywhere
Requirements:
The client computer must be at least Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 or Vista Business/Ultimate.
The client computer must have at least Office 2003 Service Pack 2 or Office 2007with Service Pack 1.
Earlier and home versions i.e.. Windows XP Home\Media edition and Vista home editions will not work and will not be supported. Office 2000/XP/2002 will not work as well.
For users currently using the full Outlook 2003/2007 with Exchange.
Open Control Panel
Click on the Start Button and click on Control Panel
If you are viewing Control Panel in the default Category view, switch to Classic view, and then double-click Mail. If you are already in the Classic view double-click Mail.
Click on Email Accounts
Make sure view or change existing email accounts is selected and click Next
make sure your outlook profile is highlighted (it is probably the only profile listed) and click Change
Click on More Settings
Select the Connection Tab
Check the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP box near the bottom.
Click the Exchange Proxy Settings box.
Enter mail.prestigerealtygroup.com in the URL box, check only the bottom checkbox near the bottom for slow networks, and make sure Basic Authentication is selected in the Proxy Authentication settings box. When you are finished the page should look like this:
Click OK.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
Click Finish
Using the new profile the first time
Make sure you have an Internet connection and open Outlook.
Enter your user name as prestige\username and password in the login box.
The first connection will take some time and a progress box for ‘Preparing Outlook for first use’ may appear.
When Outlook opens the first time it will then take some time to copy the contents of your mailbox to the Cache on the local computer.
For new profiles or POP3 users converting to RPC over HTTPS.
Open Control Panel
Click on the Start Button and click on Control Panel
If you are viewing Control Panel in the default Category view, switch to Classic view, and then double-click Mail. If you are already in the Classic view double-click Mail.
If there is no mail icon in Control Panel, close Control Panel and click on Start, Programs\Microsoft Office\Outlook.
Select Show Profiles.
Select Add. If this is the first profile on a computer you may not see this popup.
Enter your name in Profile Name box and click OK.
Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.
Select Work offline if prompted to connect or work offline (you may not see this prompt).
Select Add. If this is the first profile on a computer you may not see this popup.
Select Microsoft Exchange (top choice), Click Next.
Enter mail02.prestige.local for the Microsoft Exchange Server name. The actual name of your server is not important at this point; the Exchange system will determine where your mailbox is located.
Check the Use Cached Exchange Mode box under the server name. This setting is NOT optional for RPC over HTTPS.
Type in your RE/MAX Pros network user name in the User Name box.
Click More Settings.
Click OK on the error message saying the action could not be completed (This error message is expected.). Existing POP3 users and users who are connected to the RE/MAX Pros back-office network may not see this error message or the following popup box shown in section 2.16.
Click cancel in the new popup box. Existing POP3 users and users who are connected to the RE/MAX Pros back-office network may not see this popup box.
Select the Connection Tab in the next popup box.
Check the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP box near the bottom.
Click the Exchange Proxy Settings box.
Enter mail.prestigerealtygroup.com in the URL box, check only the checkbox near the bottom for slow networks, and make sure Basic Authentication is selected in the Proxy Authentication settings box. When you are finished the page should look like this:
Click OK.
Click Apply.
Click OK.
Click Next.
Existing POP3 users may see the following popup box, Click Yes.
Click Finish.
Select “Always use this profile” and then select the new profile you just created from the drop-down menu. Click Apply.
